Dario Hidalgo

Dario Hidalgo is Despacio’s Executive Director.

He is a civil engineer from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, and holds a PhD in transportation planning from The Ohio State University. He also acts as a Senior Consultant for the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. For the past 27 years, he worked in the field of urban transport and urban design, working both as a government official and a consultant for various international agencies and local governments. He has advised local governments and led training courses on planning and implementation of sustainable transport systems in countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
